Oshkosh Corporation Named Military Friendly® Employer for Second Consecutive Year

Dec. 21, 2018

OSHKOSH, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) today announced that it has been named a Military Friendly® Employer for the second consecutive year by VIQTORY, a veteran-owned business that supports veterans with employment assistance, entrepreneurial mentoring and education opportunities. In addition, the company has earned the Military Friendly Supplier Diversity Program distinction for the first time. With more than 850 military team members who are part of the Oshkosh Corporation Family, the company has a strong focus on hiring veterans as well as honoring those who have served.

“Growing and supporting our military team members is one of our key priorities and over the past year, we’ve grown our military team members by 17%. We are proud to be named a Military Friendly Employer for the second year in a row, and we’re also excited to be a Supplier Diversity Program designee,” said Robert H. Sims, Oshkosh Corporation Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. “Oshkosh Corporation has an active Military Network dedicated to recruiting, rallying and recognizing our military men and women.”

First published in 2003, Military Friendly Employers is regarded as the most comprehensive, powerful resource for veterans today. Institutions earning the Military Friendly® Employer designation were evaluated using public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. More than 200 companies participated in the Military Friendly® Employers portion of the 2019 Military Friendly® Companies survey.

Methodology, criteria and weightings for Military Friendly Employers were determined by VIQTORY with input from the Military Friendly® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining an organization's survey score with an assessment of its ability to meet thresholds for Applicant, New Hire Retention, Employee Turnover and Promotion & Advancement of veterans and military employees.

The Military Friendly® Supplier Diversity ratings are assessed through the evaluation of both public data about the organization and proprietary data gathered through the Military Friendly® Supplier Diversity Program survey.

Oshkosh Corporation was highlighted along with other 2019 Military Friendly Employers in the recent December issue of G.I. Jobs®magazine, and will also be in the January 2019 issue of Military Spouse Magazine and on
